About the project:

Unique Wholefood is a proudly Australian-owned retail wholefood store new to the heart of Leichardt. The team at Unique Wholefood are a small team with a big vision on the future of food; driven by their passion for health and wellbeing, helping people make conscious lifestyle choices by being an accessible hub for wholefood options for the Inner-West of Sydney. ARA Building Services were priviliged to have been appointed on the Construction and Fit-out of the first store for Unique Wholefood with the opening scheduled for early-2019 on Flood Street, Leichardt.

Scope of the project:

ARA Building Services covered the full scope of the project from Demolition including safe removal of Asbestos, a complete brand new re-fit of the essentials for refridgeration, ceiling structure and lighting, complete HVAC, and specialty requirements such as structural floor assessments to house the new refridgeration systems. With the owner’s vision in mind and utilising the industrial features of the existing space, ARA Building Services led the construction taking inspiration on the industrial trend to produce custom joinery to house the Point-Of-Sale Systems, the installation of industrial product shelving units and lastly ensuring safe disabled accessibility to the main store level via installation of a Disabled Access Lift.

Challenges of the project:

The client’s expectations of a Grand Opening in January 2019 meant majority of the project had to be delivered before the Christmas break with minor works to be completed early January 2019 which left ARA Building with a relatively short timeframe to complete works. With a positive mindset and strong trust between the ARA Building Services team and the owners of Unique Wholefood helped bring this exciting project over-the-line for the client.
